Susan’s decades of experience helping small and family-owned businesses successfully navigate economic, market and financial challenges has served Strategic Philanthropy in good stead. She has worked with the firm since its inception, helping to shape the strategic and operational side of the business as well as the market and communications presence for the firm. Her approach to planning and "out of the box" thinking has helped us to be effective and facile in an increasingly competitive market.
Susan has a B.A. from Wayne State University, attended graduate school at the University of Michigan and successfully completed the mediation program at the Center for Mediation Law in California. Earlier in her career she was Vice President of the Chicago Board of Trade and before that, Assistant Bureau Chief of the Midwest Bureau of McGraw-Hill Publications where she oversaw 44 magazines. She is a member of the Association for Corporate Growth and Association of Strategic Planners and has co-authored, with Betsy Brill, numerous articles about philanthropy for the legal and financial communities. Susan thinks that being part of the Strategic Philanthropy family is one of the best things that could have happened to her.
