Dorothy has a long history of advancing human rights. She was the 2007 visiting fellow at the London School of Economics’ Centre for the Study of Human Rights, a 1998 Macarthur Fellow and a 1995 Bunting Peace Fellow of the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Studies at Harvard University. In 1998 Dorothy received the Eleanor Roosevelt Human Rights Award from the President of the United States. Until January 2007, she was the senior program advisor to the US Human Rights Fund, which she helped to establish. Dorothy is a member of the Board of the Ms. Foundation for Women and serves on the advisory committees of the ACLU Human Rights Project, the American Constitution Society Human Rights Working Group, the Human Rights Watch US Program and the US Human Rights Fund.
